CARBON / LEGAL INFORMATION

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 9 October 2026

This English version is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs from the French version (conditions générales de vente), the French version prevails.

1. Purpose and publisher

These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern subscriptions to Carbon Premium within the iOS app Carbon (the “App”), published by Carbon, an independent publisher (the “Publisher”), who can be reached at contact@carbonapp.eu.

Subscribing to Carbon Premium means accepting these Terms in full, together with Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), which governs the use of the App.

2. The App

Carbon is an app for managing and showcasing car collections, available on iPhone (iOS 26 or later). It requires no account; all the data entered is stored locally on the user’s device (see the privacy policy).

3. Free version and Premium subscription

The App can be downloaded free of charge, with the following limits: 2 vehicles in the garage, 3 Spec Battles per calendar month and a preview of the stories.

The Carbon Premium subscription unlocks: unlimited vehicles, full access to the stories (features, rivals, anecdotes), unlimited Spec Battles and CSV export of the collection.

PlanPrice (incl. VAT)Period
Carbon Premium monthly€4.991 month, renewed automatically
Carbon Premium annual€29.9912 months, renewed automatically

The prices shown in the App at the time of purchase are the ones that apply; they may vary with the country of the App Store account. Any price change to an ongoing subscription is notified by Apple under its rules, with the option to cancel before it takes effect.

4. Subscription and payment through the App Store

Subscriptions are taken out exclusively within the App, through the user’s App Store (Apple) account. Payment is collected by Apple using the payment method linked to that account. The Publisher has no access to any payment information.

Apple provides the purchase confirmation (an App Store receipt sent by email). The subscription takes effect as soon as the purchase is confirmed.

5. Automatic renewal and cancellation

The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the current price, unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can cancel at any time from your device: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Carbon Premium → Cancel Subscription. After cancellation, Premium access continues until the end of the period already paid for; the App then returns to the free version, with no loss of the data entered.

6. Withdrawal and refunds

Requests relating to an App Store purchase are made to Apple through Report a Problem. The rights that apply depend on your country of residence and on the nature of the transaction.

For France, Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions provide a 14-day withdrawal period from receipt of the purchase receipt, for the initial subscription and not for each renewal. They also provide an exception where the supply of content has begun at your request and you have acknowledged that you lose the right of withdrawal. These provisions do not limit your mandatory statutory rights.

A goodwill refund is not guaranteed. Apple handles requests under the applicable terms; the Publisher remains available for any difficulty relating to the App.

7. Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the App or change device, an active subscription can be recovered without paying again, using the App’s “Restore Purchases” function with the same App Store account.

Carbon’s content is supplied with the App and may be expanded or corrected in its updates. The Publisher develops the service in accordance with the contract and with consumer rights.

You benefit from the legal guarantees that apply to digital content and services, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity under Articles L.224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation). Where continuous supply is provided for, the professional is liable for any lack of conformity that appears during the period of supply. Remedies may include bringing the content into conformity and then, under the conditions set by law, a price reduction or termination of the contract. The updates needed to keep the content in conformity are supplied in accordance with the law.

For any request to bring the content into conformity: contact@carbonapp.eu. For an App Store billing issue, please also contact Apple.

9. Liability

The technical specifications and stories presented in the App are provided for information and entertainment. Despite the care taken to check them, they are neither advice, nor an expert opinion, nor a valuation. The limitations in these Terms do not affect the legal guarantees, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Due dates and their reminders are an aid to organisation. Their dates are calculated from the information and intervals entered by the user, and whether reminders appear depends on the device’s notification settings. They do not replace the user’s obligations (insurance, vehicle inspection, servicing), which vary from country to country and which it is up to the user to check. The documents stored in the App are copies: they do not replace the originals required by law.

As the user’s data is stored locally, keeping it safe depends on the device and on the user’s iOS backups (iCloud or computer), which it is up to the user to keep active.

10. Intellectual property

The App, its brand, its design and its editorial content are protected by intellectual property law and remain the property of the Publisher. The brands, manufacturer names and car models mentioned are cited solely for documentary and identification purposes; they belong to their respective owners, with no affiliation or endorsement.

11. Personal data

The App collects no personal data. See the privacy policy.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of the protection of any mandatory provisions of their country of residence that apply to them.

If a problem arises, first send a written complaint to the Publisher: contact@carbonapp.eu. If a prior complaint has not been resolved, consumers may, under the conditions set by law, refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator designated by the professional.

The Publisher currently trades in his own name and has not designated a consumer mediator; should one be designated, this information will be published on this page. Consumers’ legal remedies remain fully available.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, use of the App is also subject to Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and that standard agreement, these Terms prevail in the relationship between the user and the Publisher, except where Apple’s terms must take precedence.

The statutory rules on jurisdiction continue to apply, in particular those that protect consumers.
